TREMEZZINA
Tremezzina is a municipality formed in 1928 through the merger of the municipalities of Lenno, Mezzegra and Tremezzo. After splitting up over the years, it was reunited in 2014 with the addition of the municipality of Ossuccio. Today, these four localities make up the municipality of Tremezzina. The area is rich in places of interest and is particularly popular with foreign tourists, who come here from all over the world to visit its attractions, including Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbianello and the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2003. Opposite the village of Ossuccio lies Isola Comacina, the only island on Lake Como.
