TREMEZZO
Tremezzina is a municipality born in from the merger of the municipalities of Lenno, Mezzegra, Ossuccio and Tremezzo. Tremezzo gave its name to the Riviera della Tremezzina or Riviera delle azalee, praised since the Middle Ages as a place of eternal spring. In Tremezzo, Lake Como opens to the north, although it still appears bipartite from the peninsula of Bellagio. In Rogaro, a hamlet of Tremezzo, it is possible to visit an ancient tower, dating back to the medieval fortifications and there are large flat green areas. The signs of history in these places range from prehistoric tombs to the remains of the medieval Watchtower. Among the villas of Tremezzo, the most celebrated is Villa Carlotta, open to the public, surrounded by a wonderful Italian garden with a graceful fountain in front of the entrance to the villa, box hedges, exotic and rare plants.
