The slopes overlooking the town are rich in vineyards, olive groves and laurel trees, from which the medicinal laurin oil was once extracted. On the mountains of Laglio at about 600 m., the cave of the Buco dell’Orso opens, caves and siphons rich in fossil remains of the extinct cave bear, caves not yet fully explored. Among the villas of Laglio the most famous is Villa Oleandra, a prestigious historic villa now inhabited by the famous American actor George Clooney. Laglio is a town famous for its numerous villas on the lake. The village has bars and restaurants offering local and typical products of the area. Cernobbio, with its numerous luxury hotels is within easy driving distance, as are the city of Como and Switzerland.
